Are you new or wondering about who we are?
Pitt Meadows United Church: A place to grow, tend and nurture your faith…
Are you seeking an open-minded and open-hearted community to explore the meaning of life, faith and spirituality? Then join us on the journey!
We worship every Sunday at 9:15 AM. As a vibrant and caring community we seek to live the questions, celebrate together, nurture hope, engage our minds, and find inspiration in the Christian Story. We love to laugh, and we have lots of fun while learning, growing and nurturing our faith.
Thanks for visiting our website, please browse around and learn more about us. See following some basic information that may be helpful to newcomers. We look forward to seeing you soon!
There is parking in our adjacent lot or street parking near by. We have designated handicap parking and our church and hall is wheelchair accessible.
When you arrive
Our greeter will give you a bulletin and invite you to sit where you are comfortable. The bulletin has the outline of the service and announcements of upcoming programs and events. We also project the service during worship for the ease of following along.
We have worship bags for children which have some activities to help them respond to the Worship theme.
How do people dress for the service?
We all come as we like – all wardrobe styles accepted! We ask people to refrain from using any scented products as we are a scent free environment.
We sing songs, listen to readings from the Bible, join in some prayers, and listen to a message which relates the readings to our daily lives. The worship leader will indicate when to stand if you’re comfortable doing so, and when to sit. We do not kneel.
We celebrate the sacrament of Communion on the first Sunday of the month. In the United Church all are welcome at the table – including children, if they wish. If you are not comfortable, or feel you don’t understand the ritual well enough to take part, you are not required to take part.
What music is played during services?
We love music! Our services feature piano, organ, guitar, mandolin and drum and we have a great little choir.
What happens after the service?
We meet in the adjacent church hall for coffee, juice, goodies and chat.
